The Site

The Fire & Gas, ESD, PA, PABX Integrated System is installed on the Rig Leen Jack-up Barge in Qatar for Mansal offshore.

The Requirement

To supply a combined Fire & Gas, ESD, PA and PABX integrated system. The main requirement of the system was to monitor and report the status of fire loop detection circuits.

The Solution

The system features a dual redundant 90-30 PLC (GE Fanuc) with Genius I/O blocks, addressable fire loops and control unit with interface to the PLC system. In addition, two GE Fanuc touch screens configured to display the rig fire and smoke alarms were supplied. One was a local panel operation interface and the other was a remote operator interface . The system caters for a number of HC and H2S gas detectors, also a hazardous certified PA system as well as a PABX system with numerous extension lines with hazardous area telephones and accessories. The system can also interface to third party equipment via RS485 serial interface.
